The Bell Fund is proud to announce the results of the 2025 TV Production Program (Selective Stream) – with $1.6M to be awarded to 11 projects selected from a competitive pool of 33 applications submitted from across Canada. 

The TV Production Program supports the creation of high-quality, market-driven Canadian television series across a broad range of genres and formats. Designed to empower Canadian producers and bring compelling stories to audiences, this year’s program continues the Bell Fund commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion and regional representation. 

The selected projects include dramas, comedies, and documentaries produced for 11 different broadcasters and platforms serving Canadian viewers. 

Highlights: 

• 36% of supported projects are from companies that are majority-owned by individuals who are Indigenous and/or are from Diverse Communities; 

• 27% of supported projects are from companies that are majority-owned by individuals who are Women and/or Gender-diverse; 

• 45% of the supported Key Creative Teams are comprised of 40% or more individuals who are Indigenous and/or are from Diverse Communities; 

• 82% of the supported Key Creative Teams are made up of 40% or more Women and/or Gender-diverse individuals; 

• 9% of supported projects are from companies that are from Official Language Minority Communities (OLMCs); and 

• 55% of supported projects are from companies that are regional and/or owned by emerging producers.

Nikan Productions, QC 6 x 50 mins, Documentary English, French, Inuktitut NITV, APTN, Radio-Canada, Knowledge Network	An adventure documentary series that celebrates the Arctic First Peoples’ reappropriation of their lands by exploring the many possible ways to traverse them, featuring both traditional and ultra-modern modes of transportation.
Hate the Player: The Ben Johnson Story New Metric Media, ON 6 x 30 mins, Comedy English Anthem Sports & Entertainment	Ben’s definitely-not-biased account of the doping controversy that rocked the 1988 Olympics, revealing a new, juicy look at the disgraced Canadian legend and the conspiracy behind the scandal.
kitcikisik - Great Sky Red Earth Blue Sky Productions, ON 13 x 22 mins - Documentary Cree, English APTN	Cree storyteller and astronomer Wilfred Buck is taking a small group of Indigenous "Knowledge Seekers" on a journey to understand the cosmos and reclaim the origins stories of the Cree spiritual worldview
Saint Pierre S2 Sullivan Productions, NL/ON 12 x 60 mins - Drama English CBC	RNC Inspector Donald Fitzpatrick (Fitz) and Deputy Chief Genevieve Archambault (Arch), are back keeping the French territory of Saint-Pierre safe from a new crop of dangerous criminals. But as new rivalries emerge, old alliances are challenged, and our heroes discover a terrifying new threat…is after one of their own.
Seeking Saltwater City Black Rhino Creative, BC 3 x 60 mins - Documentary English, Cantonese, Mandarin Knowledge Network	A three-part series that follows contemporary voices in Vancouver and BC. Their hopes and dreams take us on a deeply personal journey to connect our past and present. This cinematic series uncovers how history lives within us in the Chinese diaspora and echoes through the generations.
Small Achievable Goals S2 Sienna Films, QC 8 x 30 mins – Drama, Comedy English CBC	Jan hates her boss, her marriage has issues, and thanks to menopause, her furious internal monologue has become external – making all her problems worse. Racontés de façon colorée par des experts, historiens, citoyens ou journalistes, les faits sont illustrés par des archives de l’époque, des articles de journaux, etc.
Le gouffre lumineux Productions J, QC Format 10 eps x 60 mins - Drame Français Radio-Canada	La veille de son 45ème anniversaire, Agathe reçoit un diagnostic de cancer. Elle perd d’un coup ses seins, son chum et son job. Pour sauver sa peau, elle apprend à nager en eaux troubles et se déleste des poids morts.
Qui a entarté le ministre ? S2 Trio Orange, QC Format 10 eps x 30 mins - Comédie dramatique Français Télé-Québec	L’Académie des Ratons est assaillie de plaintes pour le bruit des enfants. Louise fait appel au ministre, un ancien Raton, pour calmer l’opinion publique. Mais la conférence tourne au vinaigre quand le ministre se fait entarter à la couche pleine. S’ensuit un ultimatum qui déterminera l’avenir de l’Académie.
Sur les traces de Terry Magasin Général, QC Format 6 eps x 30 mins - Documentaire Français AMI-Télé	Amputé de la jambe droite au-dessus du genou le 30 janvier 2024, Terry s’est lancé un défi inspiré de son homonyme Terry Fox : traverser le Canada à la course, de Vancouver jusqu’en Gaspésie, sa région natale, pour porter un message d’espoir et de résilience.
