The Bell Fund is proud to announce the results of the 2026 Production Program (Selective Stream) – with $1.8M for production and $225,000 for audience development to 11 projects selected from a competitive pool of applications submitted from across Canada.

The Production Program supports the creation of high-quality, market-driven Canadian series across a broad range of genres and formats, designed to empower Canadian producers and bring compelling stories to audiences. In 2026, responding to declining revenues and recognizing the shifts in the market and viewership, the Bell Fund amalgamated its production support programs. This year’s Production Program continues the Bell Fund commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion, accessibility and regional representation..

The selected projects include dramas, comedies, and documentaries produced for 11 different broadcasters and platforms serving Canadian viewers.

Highlights:

• 82% of supported projects are from companies that are majority-owned by individuals who are Indigenous and/or are from Diverse Communities;
• 45% of supported projects are from companies that are majority-owned by individuals who are Women and/or Gender-diverse;
• 82% of the supported Key Creative Teams are comprised of 40% or more individuals who are Indigenous and/or are from Diverse Communities;
• 64% of the supported Key Creative Teams are made up of 40% or more Women and/or Gender-diverse individuals;
• 18% of supported projects are from companies that are from Official Language Minority Communities (OLMCs); and
• 45% of supported projects are from companies that are regions 150km or more outside of Toronto or Montreal.

The following projects received funding:

Dads Who Dish Philospherical, ON 6 x 20 mins, Lifestyle English FOX - BITE	A funny, heartfelt, sometimes cheeky cooking series that examines parenting from a Dad's perspective. Dads don’t often see themselves on screen being portrayed as capable or as having deep conversations about parenting with other men but this series changes that. It's a show for Dads, parents and anyone else who takes care of a loved one and shows their love through food.
Junior JR TV Productions, ON 8 x 60 mins, Drama English CBC	Marcus, a driven rookie, and Kozy, a coach haunted by her own broken dreams, collide in the ruthless world of junior hockey, where the pursuit of NHL greatness tests not just their talent but their identity as they navigate the line between chasing a dream and being consumed by it.
Pretty Blind S2 Club Red Productions, PEI Torrential Pictures, NS 6 x 24 mins, Comedy English AMI	Based on the hit podcast Low Vision Moments from Jennie Bovard, Pretty Blind follows protagonist Jennie Bonang as she deals with issues ranging from a romantic fall-out to an overbearing roommate, to her dysfunctional family and equally dysfunctional workplace.
Racing Waters S2 RW2 Productions, BC 9 x 22 mins, Documentary English, Hul'q'umi'num APTN	Grounded in real events and relationships, Racing Waters is a character driven documentary series about identity, continuity, and responsibility. Season 2 follows the Island Brave team through a high-stakes season of war canoe and outrigger racing, where rivalry, family, and cultural responsibility collide, revealing how the pursuit of victory is inseparable from identity, tradition, and their legacy.
The Scientist's Guide Curiosity Films, ON 6 x 30 mins, Documentary English TVO	From an icebreaker ship in the Arctic Circle to a mine shaft two kilometers underground, follow world-class research teams behind closed doors as they work through late nights and dead ends to tackle some of the world's most pressing problems.

Elles forment un groupe éclectique que Charlotte va apprendre à découvrir, à apprivoiser, à aimer.

Les productions Diversified Voices, QC 6 x 30 mins, Comédie Français Natyf TV	Lorsque Stacy est engagée afin de développer la politique diversité, équité & inclusion d’une entreprise technologique en pleine croissance, son enthousiasme et sa bonne volonté se heurtent rapidement aux réalités d’un monde en quête de transformation, mais prisonnier de ses habitudes.
Hôtel Beyrouth Saison 2 Kavalo Productions, ON 8 x 30 mins, Drame Français, Arabe TFO, Radio-Canada, Natyf TV	Trois ans après avoir fui le Liban en guerre, Fady, un adolescent de 12 ans, documente à travers la photographie la vie de sa famille en exil à Ottawa, tiraillée entre s’ancrer ici ou retourner là-bas.

Dans un monde où tradition et modernité s’affrontent, elle tente de définir son véritable héritage, en naviguant à travers réalités culturelles, loyautés et deuil. Pour y parvenir, Nibi, Mathieu et Rachel devront apprendre à se rassembler malgré leurs différends, car seule leur solidarité leur permettra de préserver ce qui compte vraiment.
Quand le peuple se lève Pamplemousse Productions, QC 8 x 60 mins, Documentaire Français Historia	Portée par Émile Proulx-Cloutier, cette série nous amène sur le terrain à la rencontre de celles et ceux qui ont porté à bout de bras les grandes et petites luttes sociales. À travers leurs récits souvent méconnus, elle révèle les combats d’hier qui façonnent encore notre société d’aujourd’hui.

The Bell Fund is a not-for-profit organization certified by the CRTC as an independent production fund eligible to receive and administer contributions from broadcast distribution undertakings. The Fund is governed by a nine-member board operating at arm’s length from its contributors and has offices in Toronto and Montreal. Since 1997 the Bell Fund has received over $310 million in financial contributions from Bell TV to support the development and production of 2,683 great Canadian projects.
