Call for Entries – 2011 Digital Launch Pad – Banff World Media Festival

2011 Digital Launch Pad accepting nominees; is your property one of Canada’s hottest?

Posted by Liam Britten on Thu, February 24, 2011 10:52 AM · Filed under Calgary, Edmonton, Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria, Kitchener-Waterloo, Atlantic-Canada, Okanagan , Awards, Start-up and 11 other categories · No Comments

The Banff World Media Festival is looking for companies to feature as part of their Digital Launch Pad, and if you think you’ve got one of Canada’s hottest online properties, you could be in line for a big boost in popularity by submitting it to the Launch Pad.

The Launch Pad, presented by nextMEDIA, is an opportunity for exposure during the Banff Festival. Web, social media, tablet and mobile properties are eligible for nomination, and, if chosen by a panel of 11 interactive agencies to be among the top six, will have the opportunity to present their offering to industry leaders and others at the Festival. Influencers and early adopters abound at Banff, so being named to the Launch Pad can be a huge boost to a company’s profile.

Beyond the buzz that comes with being on the Launch Pad, finalist companies receive other benefits as well. You can expect a few face-to-face meetings with agencies and brands looking for new opportunities and ventures, and also feedback from industry leaders on how to capitalize on your success.

You can check out a list of past Launch Pad winners here, some of whom have experienced big success as a result of being featured on it. For example, Bitchin’ Kitchen, 2009’s winner, has been parlayed into a broadcast series on the Food Network; Moderation Town, another 2009 winner, has been winning further awards left and right, in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K., and may be turned into a series on Showcase.

Nominations for the Digital Launch Pad are currently being accepted, and will be until April 22nd. For more info on the Launch Pad and how to enter – http://www.banffmediafestival.com/digital-launch-pad.php
